OUR SUNDAY SCHOOL
Pre-school to 12th Grade
ALL CHILDREN ARE WELCOME!!! 

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION:  The Christian Education Staff at St. Peter's is dedicated, loving, and devoted to teaching each child the love of the Lord.  The children are encouraged to participate in functions of the church in order to build self-strengths and enjoy others.  The children form life-long friendships, not only with other children, but also with the adults of the congregation.  Children join us in worship service beginning at 10:00 a.m., participate in a weekly Children's Parable, then attend Sunday School classes from 10:15 until 11:15.  

MISSION STATEMENT:  St. Peter's Christian Education program will provide an education of the highest caliber for out students based on the values of our Christian Faith:  put God first, love others as you love yourself, and participate in God's plan by putting faith into action.

Classes are broken out as follows: 

ó         Littlest Angels and Pre-K:  Newborn to pre-school.  A caring, safe environment
       providing stories, song, and playtime while learning about God.

ó         Kindergarten - 2nd Grade:Well-loved teaching staff encourages the children with 
       Bible stories, songs, and crafts.  In addition to Veggie Tales, and Davey and 
       Goliath, this class will also be learning about Stories from Genesis using Gather 
       Round, a UCCSunday School curriculum.

ó         3rd - 5th Grade:  Class will be using a comic book called Holsome Sunday School 
       curriculum, as well as the Gather Round curriculum for older students.  They will also 
       be producing a class movie to be shown in February.

ó         6^th - 8th Grade:  Class will be using a Sunday School curriculum called Life Together.  
       There are six different books, but St. Peter's will be using "Connecting Your Heart to 
       Others."  Some of the issues this curriculum expores are Discovering Biblical 
       Community and Connecting the Disconnected.  They will also be reading a book 
        called, "To Save a Life - Dare to Make Your Life Count."  This book touches on how    
        to make a difference in their world, and in them.

ó         Senior High:  Class will be exploring books of the Bible, as well as topics pertinent to 
       their lives.  They will be using Great Courses DVDs to help explore the Bible.

CONFIRMATION CLASS!!!  All youths in 8^th and 9^th grades are invited to participate, along with older teens and adults who wish to be confirmed.  This is an in-depth, one-year class including Bible study and building of inner strength with God’s guidance that is taught by Pastor Hope.  Each confirmand participates in outside activities with an adult mentor from the congregation and attends a confirmation weekend at Dunkirk U.C.C. Campgrounds.  Next class will form in the spring of 2011, with confirmation in 2012.
